We currently have an opportunity for a Pubs Code Compliance Officer to join the team based in Wolverhampton, reporting to the Head of Estates Compliance.
Following the implementation of the Pubs Code Legislation in 2016, Marston’s is required to have a Pubs Code Compliance Officer. This role is to verify Marston’s compliance with the legislation.
The position is permanent and full time.

Job Role:
  • Continually review our existing processes put into place following the implementation of the legislation and implement any changes that will improve or speed up the processes. Identify pinch points in the process and formulate plans to resolve these issues.
  • Interact with others within the business to ensure we have consistency and full compliance.
  • Provide support and guidance to colleagues in respect of the legislation.
  • Be reasonably available to tied pub tenants and their representatives relating to any queries in respect of the legislation.
  • Liaise with the Pubs Code Adjudicator in matters relating to Marston’s compliance with the legislation.
  • Ensure that Marston’s is fully compliant with the Pubs Code Regulations.
  • To ensure that the principles of the legislation: fair & lawful dealing and no worse off are adhered to.
  • To attend the Company Compliance Office meetings with the PCA, representing Marston’s and to report back on these.
  • Provide monthly information requested by BBPA in support of Code Compliance Officer’s.
  • Provide information requested by the Pubs Code Adjudicator as and when it is requested.
  • Produce the Pubs Code Annual Compliance Report, collating all the requisite information. Submit to internal audit committee and subsequently to the PCA.
  • Ensure annual refresher training is provided to all relevant parties, internal and external and to any relevant new starters. Record all training provided.
  • Continually undertake audits of BDM’s Business Development Reviews to ensure compliance with the Code.
  • Carry out audits of internal teams to monitor compliance with the Regulations.
  • Implement actions to reflect any changes in guidance and or advice produced by the PCA.
Profile of the Ideal Applicant:
  • Articulate and numerate.
  • A commitment to high levels of service through a positive and focused approach to both internal and external customer care.
  • Computer literate.
  • The ability to communicate effectively at all levels, together with first class organisational and administrative skills.
  • Must have a proactive approach and be well organised and able to work with the minimum of direct supervision to meet deadlines.
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • An individual who can work as part of a team.
