How do you fancy working in the pub and brewing industry for Marston’s, one of the UK’s leading hospitality companies?

We’re looking for a dynamic Marketing Manager to join Marston’s, who can think big, inspire others and is eager to get stuck in. You’ll be working within a vibrant pub estate.

You’ll need to be able to create innovative solutions, whilst getting involved in all aspects of the marketing mix. Head office is in Wolverhampton but we’re committed to spending time in our pubs so there are loads of opportunities to get out and about across the country.

Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager, this is a great opportunity for someone with experience in retail or hospitality marketing to take ownership of the marketing plans and deliver best in class campaigns.


You will be responsible for:

  • Developing and overseeing the annual marketing plans, across a format with the opportunity to input at channel level.
  • Best in class implementation of the marketing plans which will involve content creation through to reporting, as well as developing strategies to ensure continued sales and volume growth within the business.
  • You will be the voice of our customer, championing them and developing a real understanding of their behaviour alongside key market trends.
  • Budget management including preparing regular analysis of all spend and full evaluations.
  • Managing a wide range of projects, taking a leading role in delivering marketing and cross-departmental projects.
  • You will also manage a range of external stakeholders, including managing our print and design agencies to deliver projects on time.
  • Internal communications plays a key part of this role; you’ll need to demonstrate that you can engage and inspire senior operations colleagues on all marketing issues.


  • We also need you to be degree educated (or equivalent). CIM qualified preferable but not essential.
  • You’ll need a proven track record in project management and the ability to deliver to multiple deadlines.
  • We need someone who enjoys the commercials and makes decisions based on solid insights.
  • You must be able to interpret the company agenda and use it to drive their thinking. Also, the ability to use analytical thinking to identify key issues and opportunities and react to them.
  • You’ll be joining a busy, but happy team, so you’ll need excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage several projects at once.
  • Be knowledgeable about sports fixtures and have a real passion for all things sports related (not essential but desirable)

  • We’re looking for someone with an exceptional eye for detail (an essential skill for a marketer - we’re sure you’ll agree).
  • This role will involve you talking to pub managers and franchisees, as well as presenting at a senior level, so you’ll need to be a skilled communicator and be able to handle objections and setbacks positively.
  • You’ll need a full British driving licence and of course we need you to be confident in using Microsoft Office.
  • And finally (and we’re sure you already are, if you’ve read this far) you must be passionate about both marketing and wanting to work within the pub industry.
