Marston’s Beer Company are recruiting an Innovation Manager who will help to drive our business forward by providing industry-leading insight and innovation to drive value growth. Working in a fast paced consumer focused environment the Innovation Manager role offers the right candidate the opportunity to work with our senior leadership team to add real value to our business by positioning us to succeed against current and future trends.

Reporting in to the Head of Consumer Marketing and working with cross functional teams this role will be responsible and accountable for all of our NPD.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the NPD process, working efficiently and adding real value to the business
  • Responsible for the development of and execution of the NPD pipeline
  • Take projects from concept to launch
  • Work with the insight team to direct the business towards the innovation required in line with consumer trends
  • Constant appraisal of competitor, customer and consumer change
  • Communicate new product launches effectively across the business, including but not limited to: rationale, timings and positioning
  • Deliver projects on time, on specification and on budget
  • Responsible for cost control, product and packaging specification and compliance
  • Work with Account Managers to innovate against specific customer requirements in owned brand and private label
  • Budgetary responsibility

The ideal candidate

  • Strong project management skills and experience of managing critical paths on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to manage upwards to drive material change
  • Passionate about understanding and delivering against commercial opportunity
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Focus on consumer and customer needs
