Marston’s PLC is one of the UK’s top pub businesses, as well as the leading brewer of premium cask and bottled ales. We have a heritage that we’re rightly proud of and we now operate over 1,500 pubs, bars and lodges and six breweries that produce more than 60 of the country’s best loved ales.

We’re looking for an Area Operations Manager to manage a number of sites in the South West of the UK. These sites operate under our Rotisserie format, which is hugely popular with customers who enjoy quality food and great drinks delivered in a relaxed and inviting setting.

You’ll be tasked with delivering excellent financial and operational results in a positive and people focused environment, helping us to continue to establish Marston’s as ‘The Place to Be’.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a patch of 13 pub restaurants, some of which have hotel rooms

  • Full P&L responsibility, with a focus on driving sales, controlling costs and ensuring great customer service is delivered

  • Achieving all KPIs, both financial and people focused

  • Conducting focused and regular business development reviews

  • Developing your team through effective and inspiring leadership

  • Ensuring our businesses operate at the highest standards and are fully compliant

  • Working closely and collaboratively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders

    This role could be perfect for you if:

  • You’re experienced in multisite area management in either retail, leisure or hospitality

  • You have experience of running hotels as either a General Manager or Area Manager

  • You’re able to demonstrate enviable P&L success

  • You’re passionate about developing people and driving performance

  • You can inspire, motivate and engage others, and celebrate successes with your teams, putting people at the heart of everything you do

  • You can dream big, identifying and maximising commercial opportunities

  • You have a full UK driving licence
